Course choice
If you are considering a course at UTS and you are not sure whether you will be able to meet some of the course requirements because of the impact of your disability you can seek advice from the Special Needs Service. Academic staff who are familiar with the course requirements will be called upon for advice if necessary.
Careers counselling
To assist future students who have disabilities to choose their course and profession the UTS Careers service will provide a free careers counselling session. Phone (02) 9514 1471 for an appointment.
Work integrated learning
Many UTS courses have links to the industries for which students are preparing for professional employment. These courses include clinical and fieldwork placements, or other workplace learning requirements. This cooperation with industry enhances the employability of UTS graduates.
UTS is committed to making education accessible to people with disabilities and will accommodate the needs of students with disabilities to the greatest extent possible in arrangements for fieldwork and workplace learning.
Students with a disability that may affect their ability to complete work integrated learning components of their course should discuss this prior to enrolment with the a Disability Services Officer. The Academic Liaison Officer (ALO) or other suitable person within the relevant faculty will be consulted if necessary.
