Application Process

You are welcome to apply to live in a UTS Residence at any time.

UTS makes a small proportion of 'early offers' to live in a Residence some months before the commencement of each semester, and these early offers are conditional on the student being accepted into a UTS coursework or research program. The exceptions to this are currently enrolled UTS students who may be made unconditional offers at any time.

Most offers to International students are only made once you have received an offer of an academic place at UTS, have accepted that offer, and paid the relevant fees.

Most offers to Local students are made once students have been offered a place in an academic program, following the first or second round UAC offers.

Selection Criteria

We have a number of criteria that guide us in selection of applicants.

You should provide us with clear information in your application to assist us in the selection process including information related to special consideration issues.

Application Wait-list

Application wait times are subject to availability and the applicant meeting certain criteria as per the UTS Housing Selection guidelines on UTS Residences (e.g. to achieve a balance in the gender of residents, local versus international students, and postgraduates and undergraduate students).

If you are not selected at the time of your application and do not recieve specific notice thatyour application has been declined, you will be contacted at a later stage (for example before the beginning of the next semester) to see whether you are still interested in a place to live in a UTS Residence. If you indicate that you are interested, then your application will be considered.

Application Process

To reduce administrative costs associated with the large number of applications we receive we strongly encourage and prefer you to apply on-line and communicate with the Housing Service via the email address provided.

If, however, you have a disability or other special need that makes it hard for you to apply on-line, or if you have limited computer access, please contact us and we will provide an alternative that is suitable to you.
