Student equity grants

Financial assistance offers grants to students experiencing financial hardship.

General information

Applicants will be experiencing either sustained or temporary financial hardship.

Grants are for course related expenses and/or to assist with short-term living costs.

Applications for up to $500 will be considered.

Grants are not intended for the payment of fees.

We will ask you to write a statement about why you need a grant, and documentation related to your need for assistance.

Eligibility

Applicants must be currently enrolled in award courses (undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses) at UTS and not on Leave of Absence or facing Exclusion. International, Non-award and Insearch students are not eligible.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens, permanent residents, holders of Australian permanent resident humanitarian visas, or holders of temporary protection visas.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate financial hardship, and will usually be on a Centrelink benefit.

How to apply

  1. Download the application form (PDF 551Kb).
  2. Make an appointment to see the financial assistance officer.
  3. Complete the application form prior to interview.
  4. Bring your student card, bank details and supporting documents to the interview.
