What is the Anglican Church?
The Sydney Diocese of the Anglican Church is a Christian denomination that bases its beliefs and practices firmly on the Bible.
You can investigate what the Bible teaches about God, His Son Jesus and our need for a relationship with him by visiting http://www.christianity.net.au/ (open an external page)
Important to our life here in Sydney is our mission:
“To glorify God by proclaiming our saviour the Lord Jesus Christ in prayerful dependence on the Holy Spirit, so that everyone will hear his call to repent, trust and serve Christ in love, and be established in the fellowship of his disciples while they await his return.”
Our aim is to see ten per cent of the people of Sydney in Bible-based churches in 10 years. You can learn more about our mission by clicking here (open an external page).
Who is the Anglican Chaplain at UTS?
Mike Paget has worked in a petrol station and on an open cut coalmine, rode out the tech boom and crash with a global software firm (open an external page) based in Silicon Valley, and now works for a church in the city (open an external page) as well as at UTS. He loves his wife Fiona, his two spunky daughters Susannah and Rose, being precious about coffee and watching other people ride up hills in the Tour de France (open an external page). He looks forward to global warming bringing the beach closer to the inner west.
Mike would love to have a coffee and chat with you about life, spirituality, God, Jesus - or just the latest footy scores.
