If you have been invited to interview, you already know that the employer is interested in the skills or attributes you have demonstrated in your resume. The selectors like what they see in the resume or application -this should give you confidence!

How can you maximise the opportunity at interview to speak about your self and your interest in the role and organisation?

Research

The most important qualities employers look for are focus and motivation. If you have done your research you will know what interests you about the organisation, what skills and attributes you have that you will be able to use and develop in the role, what you hope to learn and how the position fits in with your career aspirations.

Prepare

You will not have time to think of the best examples of the skills you have demonstrated while in the process of the interview. This is the work that you will need to do well before the interview. Even so, you may be asked something that you are not prepared for, but you will minimise this possibility with enough preparation.

Practice

Just because you now know what examples you would use to highlight your major strengths, does not mean that you will easily be able to talk about the examples or about yourself. Most of us find this quite difficult and we only become better at speaking about ourselves or about what we have achieved with practice.

Marketing yourself

The way you present yourself at interview is important.
